Gaylord Entertainment Center Tickets In Detail
Bring yourself on, brace all challenges with a smile, laugh off your tears and attend an absorbing event in a superb venue. Located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, the Gaylord Entertainment Center is an all-purpose venue that was constructed in 1996. The United States Figure Skating Association national championship was held here in 1997 while the U.S. Gymnastics championships were hosted here in 2004. Gaylord Entertainment Center, abbreviated as the GEC, is acquired by the Sports Authority of Nashville and Davidson County. From 1997 to 2001, the Nashville Kats franchise of the Arena Football League played here. Ever since the team's revival in 2005 several concerts and religious gatherings have been hosted here. Apart from this, some key basketball events, covering both women's and men's tournaments have also been held here.
The Gaylord Entertainment Center hosts the first and second rounds of the men's NCAA Basketball Tournament in alternate years. The seating capacity of the center is something to talk about, with 10,000 for half-house concerts, about 20,000 for basketball, 17,113 for ice hockey and 18,500 for end-stage concerts. The WWE/WWF wrestling events have also been held here but due to little attendance, the programs have been moved to the much-smaller venue of Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The arena can be adapted into the 5,145-seat Music City Theater, where Broadway and family shows apart from theater concerts could be held. Trade shows are also featured here with 43,000 square feet of space provided. With the onset of February 2005, the Predators and Gaylord formed an agreement whereby the Gaylord name would remain on the building only until a new entity would be engaged for the naming rights. This has resulted many people in Nashville media to call the arena by its actual name, the Nashville Arena.
