West Virginia University is located in PO Box 0877, Morgantown, West Virginia, United States of America. The campus is built over a vast area of 913 acres.

The university was found in 1867 and the nickname of West Virginia University is Mountaineers. The colors in the logo of University are blue and old gold.

The university has other campuses namely; West Virginia University, Parkersburg, West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Montgomery, Potomac State College of West Virginia University, Keyser and Charleston Area Medical centre, Charleston.

Currently the university has 28,113 students studying in it, with 21,145 undergraduates and 6,968 postgraduates. It has a faculty of 1,870 members and a staff comprising of 7,566 members. The Morgantown Campus has three campuses, the Downtown campus, the Evansdale Campus and the Health Sciences Campus.

The University has its own transport facility, Morgantown Rapid transport Facility, because of the dispersion of the University campuses on a large area. The education level and quality of the university is commendable with helpful and highly qualified faculty and the excellent study plans.

The university has up to the mark sports and games facilities with separate stadiums for each game and sport. The university has a big stadium for games and sports, with the name Mountaineer Field and has the capacity to seat approximately 60,000 people, which shows its healthy contribution in extra curricular activities.

The university is very particular to plays and dramas to keep the minds of the students healthy in studies as well as in other activities. For this purpose, the University has an arena for plays dramas and concerts with the name, WVU Coliseum which can seat up to 14,000 people.

Hawley Field is the baseball field of the university which has the capacity to seat 1,500 people and it is a great medium for the students who like baseball. Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium is the soccer stadium of the university which seats up to 1,800 people in a single game.

Likewise, Mountaineer Tennis Court is the tennis stadium of the university, seating up to 1,000 people at one time. The president of the athletics department of the university is Mike garrison The University holds a number of all these games and sports in a year and bears out some excellent athletes.

The University has no less than seven libraries. The names of these libraries are: Media Services, math Library, Law Library, Health Sciences Library, Evansdale Library and the Downtown Campus Library.

These six libraries are situated in Morgantown and the seventh library, WVU Charleston Health Sciences Library is situated in Charleston. All the libraries are equipped with fastest internet access and audio and visual aids.

The libraries of WVU contain 1.5 million volumes covering every section of subjects, from Map Rooms to Digital Collections and from Appalachian Collection to Government Documents. The WVU libraries have the honor to rank the 5th best library among 366 college libraries by Princeton Review.
