In Gammage Auditorium, a total of 3,017 people can be seated on its main floor, balcony and grand tier. The auditorium regularly stages Broadway musicals, grand opera, solo productions, lectures, dramatic productions and organ recitals. Named after Dr. Grady Gammage, President of Arizona State University (ASU), Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium or more commonly known as just Gammage Auditorium, lies on the main campus of Arizona State University. Architect Frank Lloyd, a proficient professional lent his expertise in designing the building, it being his last public commission. The construction of Gammage commenced on May 23, 1962 spanning 25 months for completion. The construction cost of the building remained under budget and it was completed on time. It was inaugurated in 1964 with the Philadelphia Orchestra performed by Eugene Ormandy. In 1985, the building even earned a mention in the National Register of Historic places.

The dimensions of the building measure 300 feet (91 m) wide by 80 feet (24 m) long by 250 feet (76 m). The round roof with its outline of interlocking circles is supported by Fifty concrete columns.
