Bakersfield Fox Theater, simply known as the Fox Theater, is located in the Downtown Bakersfield, where it opened in 1930 and has since been known as the city's performing art hub. It was in fact created in order to pay off the theater's mortgage and alongside also to continue with various ongoing restoration projects. In addition it would also facilitate the construction of the Fox Plaza that would the theater-portion of Bakersfield into a shopping area and pedestrian walkway. Fox celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary with a huge Black Tie Gala which was included a musical performance inside, dancing to live music acts along with dinner in its large maintenance and storage building, and  slideshow with commentaries by Foundation members. The evening's main highlight was the raffle for a ten thousand dollars diamond pendant.
