Faurot Field Tickets

Faurot Field Memorial Stadium broke ground in 1925. Under the ownership of University of Missouri, it serves as the home field for Missouri Tigers and is primarily used for football matches. It was named after the talented coach Don Faurot in the early seventies and since then has been hosting epic football games. During off season, it is used for intramural matches as well as Providence Bowl Game between Rock Bridge and Hickman High schools. This year's schedule is out and Missouri Tigers will be playing against Arkansas State Red Wolves, Florida Gators, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies at the arena. Faurot Field was constructed with the donations earned in the name of alumni who lost their lives in World War 1. Fundraising began in 1921 and in just four years, the arena was built to host games. It was constructed as a horseshoe shaped stadium with a capacity to accommodate 67,124 people at a time. Expected to expand, it will further be improving its seating facility to adjust 77,000 people in the coming years.

The venue has extended renovation plans and is already working on their implementation. One of its historic landmarks was 'M' that was built in 1927 by using leftover rocks from the construction material of the stadium at the time of establishment. It has now been replaced with an oval shaped 'Power Tiger' logo in the center of the field.

Apart from the physical improvements in the venue, there are a few traditions that the Faurot Field has maintained since its formation. The most popular of them is that all the fans are encouraged to wear gold at least in one game every season. The overall concept worked out so well during the match between Missouri Tigers and Nebraska Cornhuskers that the Athletic Department requested the fans to wear gold shirts in games that followed for the rest of the matches. Today, fans of all teams wear gold during their home games except for the blackout game.

The schedule at the Field this year lists Arkansas Red Wolves as the opening team to play against the Missouri Tigers. Having won six Conference Championships so far, Wolves have recently been crowned as the second Sunbelt Conference Champions twice in a row. This exciting match will be followed by a game with Florida Gators, a team known for winning the most games than any other franchise in NCAA Football Subdivision since the nineties.
