Dallas Fair Park is a 277-acre recreational and educational complex located in Dallas, Texas, USA.

The complex is registered as a National Historic Landmark and is home to nine museums, six performance facilities, a lagoon, and the largest Ferris wheel in North America.

Fair Park is recognized as a significant example of art deco architecture as it is home of large structures including The State Fair of Texas, Hall of State, The Cotton Bowl and the Big Tex .

The park also locates on its northern tip an important multi purpose Music Hall famous for the fact to hold the 1963 speech of civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr. railed against poll taxes. This hall is located near the Main Gate and Gate 4, in the western end of the park"s grounds.

The Music Hall at Fair Park is the home of Dallas Summer Musicals, The Dallas Opera and Texas Ballet Theatre. It was opened to public on October 10, 1925 with a grand theatrical debut and the musical premiere of Sigmund Romberg's, "The Student Prince".

The venue was thoroughly praised by the visitors and the performers fulfilling its dedicational motive "to the good, the true and the beautiful". The venue is significant for both concerts and theatrical performances.

It has been the home of some of the Broadway favorite performances including "Les Miserables", "Miss Saigon" and the Southwest Premier of "The Phantom of the Opera". The grand opera productions that have been showcased at the spacious stage of the grand Music Hall of Fair Park are "Aida", "Madama Butterfly" and "The Barber of Seville".

Inspired by the grand structures of art deco exposition in Fair Park the Music Hall is designed in Spanish Baroque style with Moorish architectural influences.

The design theme of this hall is embodied in six soaring stair towers capped with cast drum and dome and five great arcade porches overlooking panoramic views of Fair Park.

The seating design of the hall has a wide lower level wing and large balcony that together holds the capacity of up to 3,420 people. The professional expertise management of the Music Hall is conducted by the staff of Dallas Summer Musicals affiliated company DSM Management Group, Inc.

The Music Hall has undergone three major renovations since its opening with the major additions of air conditioning, a grand foyer, the Crystal Terrace Restaurant, ample dressing rooms, an infrared headset station and 3,420 seats.

The first renovation occurred in 1954 when the much needed air conditioning was installed. The purpose of renovation of year 1972 was to remodel and expanding the lobby areas and the space for Crystal Terrace Restaurant.

This project also enlarged the backstage area. The final touches included acoustical improvements and the installation of more comfortable seats enhancing the seating capacity to the current capacity.

In 1999 a refurbishment of all 3420 seats was completed, the theatre was re-carpeted, the interior repainted and a permanent gift store, infrared headset station and guest relations center were created.

Other improvements and amenities, including booster seats, were also added. The Music Hall can also scale down for corporate meetings, black-tie affairs, luncheons and banquets.

This venue is famous for hosting a variety of events, including Broadway musical touring companies, grand opera, ballet and other dance productions while the Music Hall's Crystal Terrace provides an elegant setting for private parties, receptions and buffets prior to the summer musicals.

The parking is available on the Fair Park grounds. With the parking fee the space of parking is also available in the lot at South of I-30 in between First and Second Aves.
