The first thought that comes to the mind when speaking of golf, is the king of golf player Tiger Woods. Woods has marked his place as the world"s greatest golf player ever.

One such golf club has been built in American city of Augusta, Georgia. This national golf club happens to be one of the most famous and exclusive club in the world.

Founded in the starting of the winter in the year 1933, the club opened for playing. And from the next year onwards Augusta golf club has been playing host to the yearly tournament which the golf lovers look forward to.

Augusta National is generally regarded as the most reputed golf course. Ever since 1934, Augusta golf club is home to the masters tournament which is one of the four major championship in the professional golf. And this gives the fans a whole unique opportunity to become familiar with the sport course.

One of the renowned golf players had always dreamt of building up a golf course and to make people more aware of the sport. Bobby Jones took retirement from the sport and made his dreams come true by constructing a golf club in the American city of Augusta, Georgia.

The venue selected provided a suitable piece of ground for this purpose. And with the help and assistance of a close friend managed to constructively built the club which would not only benefit others in achieving their goals but the course would also utilize the natural advantages of the property in hand.

Jones wanted this concept of golf course architecture to make a contribution to the game and also provide the architect with his ideas and thoughts about the making of the golf course. Initially, it was decided that the Augusta National would be open during the winter season only which gradually was set to be a part of other seasons also.

Another recommendation for building the club was given by a friend of the retired player. According to him there lies a 365-acre of land namely fruit lands nurseries. The property discovered was an indigo plantation place, which had been covered mainly with trees and plants.

The pleasant site and serenity topping it was an ideal place for making it a golf ground. Still remaining as the part of the property included a long row of magnolias and a flourishing plant by the name of azalea.

By just gazing at the green property, Perfecto! was the word that fitted the approval for making of the membership club, and to think this ground has been lying here all these years waiting for someone to come along and lay a golf course on it.

The name for the establishing national member ship golf club was suggested as Augusta National Golf Club. The mission was still not complete as Jones decided to bring in a one time famous architect who also happened to be an acquaintance of the former golf player.

And with the two partners sharing the same views and made designing of the club much easier. After a span of two years, Augusta golf club was inaugurated in the winter of 1933. As mostly is the case with a new built environment anywhere, there were a limited amount of players but gradually the number increased with every passage of time.

In a nutshell, Augusta National Golf Club was built in January, 1933 and is said to be one of the most exclusive golf club. The club covers acres of area giving the golf players a platform for learning the art of the game.

After a vast and thorough hunting of a spacious area, finally one property was bought for this purpose. Hiring of an able architect namely Alistair Mackenzie combining with the views of the retired golf player Bobby Jones brought out a serene land course, with the name of Augusta National Golf Club situated in the American city of Augusta from where it gets the name.
