With a seating capacity of 60,000, the Stanford Stadium became the hub of city"s athletic scene and in no time, the magnificent stadium started giving tough competition to other sports facilities of the region.

Over the years, Stanford Stadium kept reinventing itself in order to keep pace with the increasing popularity of Cardinals and innovations in college football facilities. More seats were installed in 1929 and the press box was constructed in 1960.

In 1970"s, West side tunnels were dug and athletics track was installed. However, the current structure of Stanford Stadium is mostly the result of major renovation work that completely transformed the facility in 2006.

Started on November 26, 2005 and completed within 42 weeks, the renovation project cost around $100 million and gave Stanford Stadium an impressive face-lift. The stadium was reopened on September 16, 2006 and the Cardinals fans were overjoyed to see the completely transformed facility.

Today, the Stanford Stadium attracts sports freak because of its world-class amenities and fantastic services. This state-of-the-art facility consists of natural turf playing field of unmatched standard. The 50,000 seating capacity include 400 Director's Level seats and seven luxury Skybox suites.

Two high-resolution video scoreboards are installed in the stadium and around 200 concession points are provided throughout the stadium. Foodies can buy a variety of snacks and Cardinals fans can shop at the merchandise store located in the stadium.
