Details of Nationals Park and the Ticket Luck value
Baseball fans have multiplied over the decades, as have various teams fielded by the sport itself. And these fans are hungry for action every time the baseball season rolls around. So what better way to feed ball craving fans than behemoth arenas that put the Roman coliseums of yore to shame. A recent titan to step into the scene is the Nationals Park, which is the current home to the Washington Nationals team of Major League Baseball. Located along the banks of the Anacostia River flowing through Washington D.C. in the vicinity of the Navy Yard, the stadium entailed hundreds of millions of dollars in the making and heralds the nouveau face of the Capitol Riverfront in the US capital.
The 21 acre space of the Nationals Park was gouged out from the existing properties, mostly residences, warehouses, parking lots and auto-repair garages, whose owners were shown the flag of "eminent domain" by the city and compelled to sell their establishments and homes in the name of public good. The venue was designed by the architectural firm of Populous, which is one of the largest in the world and has also designed other prominent venues such as London's 2012 Olympic Stadium and the O2 arenas. Opening its seats to the public in March 2008, Nationals Park has cost just under $ 700 million and was financed in part by the Deutsche Bank through municipal bonds.
Though cradling the typical baseball diamond, The Nationals Park's structure is multi-tiered and houses convention areas, restaurants, cafes and exclusive suites. The right field measures 335 feet with the left one a foot longer, the left-center field at 377 feet exceeds the right-center one by 7 feet with the center-field topping at 402 feet. The park's 41, 546 seats are arranged in a lower and upper bowl formation, with the former having 22,000 seats that can literally receive walk-in crowds as the main concourse is at the same level as the sidewalk outside. With views of the US Capitol building, some 12,000 odd spectators can be accommodated in the upper bowl as well as more than 5000 in suites and club seats. Exclusive presidential seating right behind home plate provides for the patrons to fill their own at the indoor buffet.
With baseball action cracking off in the form of the Nationals and Braves game on March 30th, 2008, the Nationals Park has already witnessed players such as Randy Jackson and Albert Pujols achieving their career milestones of 300 wins and 400 home runs respectively. The park has hosted other events such as a mass offered to a packed stadium by Pope Benedict XVI in April 2008 and Billy Joel and Elton John teaming up to perform the following year in July.
With a dazzling legacy that's just beginning to unfold, thanks in part to the 4,500 square feet out-of-town HD scoreboard, book your Nationals Park tickets now to show some nationalistic spirit as part of a mass gathering of baseball fever victims.
