The Sokol Auditorium is historically enriched and a well renowned venue for gymnastics and musical performances and is located in the Southern Omaha, Nebraska.

The Sokol Auditorium was built in 1926 and also houses Sokol Underground below the auditorium that hosts various sorts of live concerts and musical events.

Basically Sokols was a fraternity that was founded in the neighborhood of Little Bohemia in order to endorse equality, harmony and fraternity among the community.

Hence the formation of the Sokol Auditorium was also a part of the Sokol Movement that was started back in 1862 by an intellectual young lad, Dr. Miroslav Tyrs. Dr. Tyrs founded Sokol in order to bring mental and physical fitness and strength to the citizens and also the awareness for the need of that for national freedom through discipline and exercise.

Due to its major emphasis on gymnastic and physical exercises, Sokols have been earning sound reputation in Olympic Games, over the years.

Tyrs was exposed to the old Greek Gymnastics studies, and he revealed his research and study inform of a Sokol Gymnastic System, which has sustained its value and validity over the course of time. It was in 1865 when the first ever Sokol Organization was formed in the country in St. Louis, Missouri, which was followed by the blowout of several more units of the Sokol organization in different towns and cities nation wide as well as internationally.

Sokol Organization primarily promotes Gymnastics and physical exercises, but apart from that Sokol also lays stress on and promotes sports including track and swimming, volleyball and also performing arts including music, dance, acting, drama, literature and songs.

Over the years, Sokol Organization has shown its foremost dedication towards the reason it was created back in 1865, which was cultural development of both its members and all the children who enrolled and attend its gymnasium. Sokol Organization believes in building a strong and healthy nation through physical and mental activeness.

Due to this, a number of members of Sokol have performed in Olympic Games as well including Phil Cahoy and James Hartung who took part in Olympics in 1980. Sokol is basically a Czech word, which means Falcon in English.
