They rocked the world by their performance. Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop duo from Detroit. The band comprises of two respective personalities, who had the privilege to perform under the respective personas of the murderous, wicked clowns etc.

The Insane Clown Posse performs a style of hardcore hip hop known as horror core and is known for its dark, violent lyrics and elaborate live performances. Seemingly harsh for the listeners, this hip hop portrays the opposite of what it sounds as.

The duo happens to have earned three golden and two platinum albums but have been simultaneously been criticized for the violent content and perceived immature nature of their lyrics.

Originally known as Inner City Posse, the duo Bruce and Utsler both changed the group's name after visualizing it in a dream resembling it to be a traveling carnival. The dream came to be as an inspiration to the introduction of supernatural and horror themed lyrics.

The duo founded the independent record label Psychopathic Records. They also happened to have formed their own wrestling federation which later collaborated with many famous hip hop and rock musicians.

The themes of Insane Clown Posse and other acts on Psychopathic Records center on the mythology of the Dark Carnival, which the duo claim is a spiritual force that has revealed a series of stories known as Joker's Cards. This American hip hop band has a long history about the struggle behind their popularity. The duo Bruce and Utsler met in Oak Park, a poor, crime-ridden suburb. Along with many others they used to wrestle in backyard rings that they had built themselves.

Amateur as they were, they did not pursue their music career seriously, though they did work on the release of a single. Poverty and a difficult home life drove Bruce to move in with a not so popular group, which resulted in having a sense of home and belonging. Bruce formed a gang called Inner City Posse.

Other than the duo, the gang included some others having the same interests, connections that he had earlier made in Southwest Detroit. Such gangs do not get to hide much from the claws of the laws.

The person responsible for making of the gang i.e. was jailed for ninety days for death threats, robbery, and violating probation, and this experience convinced him to reduce his involvement in gang life and on the other hand portray his hidden skills in a positive may. Of course, it is an easy said then done act, and this can only be imagined by ordinary man about of cutting down his criminal behavior.

Although Bruce started the wrestling business, he became frustrated with the backstage politics and began searching for another career. On the streets, Bruce began listening to hip hop with Utsler and his brother. Slowly, the three started performing at the local night clubs, but kept using violent names under the name of their gang.

Horrifying as it may sound, their growing popularity in the local music scene turned negative for the group's gang, which became the target of growing violence. After receiving jail sentences, the group members abandoned gang life. This turned in favor of the trio who took a real bold step in keeping away from the gang.

The duo with the help of the others assisting them in the band had to initially go through quite a difficulty. Most rappers at the time used similar styles, making it difficult for them to distinguish it stylistically.

But after one of the newspapers while criticizing them, also gave it suggestions to go for the acid rap which turned to be a good recommendation for them to maintain their focus onto acid rap.

Then came the part of suggesting a name for the band. Bruce recalled his dream of a clown running around in Delray, which became the inspiration for the group's new name: Insane Clown Posse. The other members agreed, deciding that they would take on this new genre and name, and would all do face painting.

Then started of the journey of the Insane Clown Posse's tours. With making efforts and facing the hardships that came, Insane Clown Posse band finally got through towards being recognized for their work.

However, the violence somewhat had negative vibes in the listeners minds. But the best part that remains is that the duo did not once lose heart and confidently kept on going and going, a step forward that is very hard to take for many.
