New Kids on Block Tickets

Formed in 1984, New Kids on The Block are a boy band that features two brothers and three other band members. The group was formed by Maurice Starr. Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, Joey Mclintyre and Donnie Wahlberg are the five members that reunited in 2008 after going their separate ways in the year 1994. The in between period saw many attempts of trying to be reunited but none worked till 2008. But this did not stop anyone from loving the hot favorites of the 80's and 90's and now the new century of course.

Also known as NKOTB, these boys were the pioneers of boy bands that do it all and paved the way for others to sing and dance likewise. Their first album was a self-titled one released in 1986. With the first few songs given little than deserved appreciation, Starr was adamant to make the boys carry on. He tried to fetch the band acts wherever possible.

NKOBT spent the next two years in the studio to record their second album, Hangin' Tough. This time after a narrow escape, the first single of the album Please Don't Go Girl was noticed. Before people knew it, it had become the most requested song. This wasn't it; a new and improved video for the song was shot and distributed extensively to show how visually appealing the New Kids on the Block were. The song even earned a number ten spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Single Chart. This was the band's first ever hit song.

Moving on towards their second single from the album, the boys began appearing on television and starting becoming opening acts of some tour shows. In fact, the song's video was a regularly played one on MTV and was on top five. More success was seen with the third single, I'll be Loving You (Forever), when it climbed up to the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles. This time, the New Kids on the Block had other celebrities for their openings.

Hangin' Tough gave birth to a few more top singles before claiming the eighth place on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The album also went platinum, not once, not twice but eight times. The next album was a holiday one called Merry, Merry Christmas. The single, This One's for the Children, from the album earned a top ten spot and went platinum twice.

The New Kids on the Block had become so popular that April 24^th was declared a 'New Kids on the Block' Day. Step By Step was the album that followed Hangin' Tough. This album too had massive hits that earned remarkable positions on the charts and also went triple platinum.

The band began to tour extensively. Their merchandise sales were on the rise and they also had a cartoon based on them. The year 1991 was all about touring around the major areas of the world but a single was released the very next year.
 
Even though the New Kids on the Block split from Maurice Starr, they released their fourth album called Face the Music. The album did not receive commercial success like the previous ones did. On the other hand, band member Jonathan Knight had to leave the group after some time of ill health. Soon after, the group automatically disbanded.

After quite a few attempts, NKOTB finally got together in 2008 when they began coming up new stuff to record and were preparing for tour. Summertime was the first song since the band reunited and the second single was one that had the very famous Ne-Yo too. They released their studio album, The Block. The album climbed top spots on charts and was certified Gold too. From here onwards the band kept touring and also performed with celebrities like Lady Gaga, Natasha Bedingfield and Jesse McCartney.

Their live concerts are always fun since the boys like to to get up close and personal just like fans like it. A 15 year old boy had down right impressed Starr (famous producer) and his business associate with his dancing ability, who was also the first member of the band.   With his selection came in a sheer responsibility to make a group and hence he provided his services in helping to recruit other members as well. Among the selected candidates were his very own brother and his best friend. Followed them was a one time school mate and his brother. The two had strong vocals to mesmerize audience with it. Gradually, word of mouth and auditions helped in selecting and shaping up the group. During their selection time a boy stepped out of the group being cynical about the whole idea of its bubble gum direction and called it quits.   Replacing him was a neighborhood friend, who had trouble concentrating and without discipline being one of her core reason, was eventually dismissed. Even though the teenagers were amateurs, but somehow Starr had faith in them claiming that if they work hard there is no stopping for them to reach success. Hopeful as he was, Starr brought in replacements for the lead singer, who was initially resented by the other boys but gradually gained his position within the group as its singer. The boys were made to rehearse again and again and again till the word perfect would be blurted.   Now came the part of providing a name for the group. Thinking of a name for the group was another difficult task. Several attempts were made, finally "New kids on the block" was decided after a rap song had been written and then arranged for the first album.   "Try and try again and you will never lose", that's a common phrase which is used when striving for perfection, popularity and break through. Similar is the case with this group band. Initializing their career from 1980's, debut album came into the market with the famous bubble gum pop song material. New kids did capture fame but on limited scale, failing to impress nation wide people.   Thanks to Starr who got the boys hooked on to places as of bars, cafe, school dances etc any where he could get the boys to perform and let more and more people know about them. Heart broken and dissatisfied with the failure of their first album, and after a lot of counseling done by Starr new kids were seen again working harder this time for their next album. And to the amazement of the people it was a super hit album which waved through from places to places and bought fame to New kids journey. Tours to various places became a common thing. The release of the second album bore them a reputation unlimited their popularity graph kept rising on.   By the time 1990 arrived, New Kids on the Block had become one of the most popular band in the world. Come rain come shine, there was nothing that could let New Kids become in famous. One hit after the other and so on and so forth. The album cassettes and cd's sold like hot cakes. The album was eventually certified triple platinum, selling close to twenty million copies worldwide. Their second album worked as their lucky charm and gained monetary, social and personal gain. Gradually came a time when this starry rock / pop band songs were on the top ten charting holiday album and would stay on the charts for over week's time.   Accumulated in Boston, the members who were related to each other strengthened their unity and became known to people all around by their fascinating rap songs, pop music, on the whole giving very presentable albums altogether. However the group parted in 1994 and was re united after a span of 14 years.   New kids on the block are now all set to release their new album soon.
