Popejoy Hall Tickets

The Hall opened in October 1966, boasting exceptionally good acoustical qualities for its time. It was inaugurated with a concert performance by Utah Symphony Orchestra with Maurice Abravonel as director. Today, Popejoy stands as a rare architectural and acoustical gem. Through the years, many new venues have opened in Albuquerque region, but none can quite be compared to Popejoy's extensive technical options. With its incredible capacity, acoustical sound and design capabilities, and a sprung floor specifically designed for dance performances, it remains above all venues. In addition, it has an orchestral pit with state-of-the-art lighting that makes it the preferred choice for symphonic productions. Popejoy Hall offers great parking facilities including a free shuttle lot that is often called the G Lot and is located in the University Boulevard. For the visitors' convenience, the entrance is just across the Carrie Tingley Hospital. The shuttles run roughly every ten minutes starting ninety minutes prior to the curtain and continues running for an hour following the performance. This shuttle bus drops off patrons at the broad walkway of Cornell Pedestrian Mall that passes right before the hall. Patrons' cars can thus stay in an attended and well-lit lot the whole time. The Hall has recently hosted Price is Right, Live!, Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre, The Joy Luck Club, Pacific Mambo Orchestra with Tito Puente, Jr., Stomp, Australian Bee Gees Show, David Sedaris, The Graduate and American Idiot. This upcoming season features many exciting ballets, comedies, and musical shows among other highlights.
