Lyric Theatre
The popular Lyric theatre opened in 1963 in the great city of Oklahoma. The theatre soon became to be known as the only existing professional musical theatre company.

A variety of productions began to be hosted in the theatre. As a result of this plenty of stars and local favorites gained recognition performing on this platform.

History
The Lyric theatre was originally built in 1925.However during the era of depression in Europe, the theatre was closed down. For the next 50 years, the theatre was sold and bought by various companies who utilized the theatre for varied purposes. This included being bought by a church who used it for its weekly ceremonial functions.

In 1987, the city was being revitalized. The owners of the community saw the Lyric theatre and began to pursue its restoration. The building of the theatre was historically unique and significant. Thus the redevelopment of the theatre began and varied events within the community began to be hosted here.

After the restoration efforts, the theatre became as good as a new building. Many community events were held here including the classical theatre, concerts both rock and local bands, school programs ranging from dancing and recitation competitions to charity find raising ceremonies. Indeed the theatre became a common platform for all community services.

Naming
The theatre became widely known for providing foundations for holding gathering within the community for people of all ages. The theatre later began to be known as the National Register of Historic Places.

Recent Years
Lyric theatre became a known as a family theatre which hosted private productions created under the theme related to various walks of life. The newly redeveloped theatre had a capacity of 50,000 seats.

In the past recent years also, the Lyric features the famous series, Show Notes. These are musical concerts which focus on the life of a particular composer. Also they may be related to a particular theme.

In the year 2004, the Lyric theatre began a series of music. These musical became popular with the adventurous theatergoers.

The Lyric theatre began a new series in 2005, termed as Lyric"s Staged Reading Series. These readings let writers and composers to listen to their words or music on stage. This was followed by feedback by the audiences. The crowds would come to the stage to give their opinions about the pieces. This let the audience understand better the words or lyrics.

Renovations
Lyric Theatre was later transformed into the historic Plaza Theatre. This theatre has become a worldly known platform for private productions, which included new and old works of eminent musicians and actors.

This platform has become a perfect place for showing the talent of upcoming stars.
