Richmond Raceway is a complex which is a 1,000-acre, multi-purpose facility. It is collectively known as the Richmond Raceway Complex (RRC).

The facility is home to Richmond International Raceway (RIR), a 1.2 km, D-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia, and it is one of the most versatile special events sites in the country.

The complex comprises six permanent buildings with more than 300,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space. Richmond Raceway Complex is a major attraction especially for visitors, as more than 1.2 million visitors attended consumer trade shows, special events, corporate meetings, concerts and outdoor festivals here in 2008.

Conveniently located just outside of the city of Richmond in beautiful Henrico County, near interstates 64, 295, 95 and 85, Richmond Raceway Complex is easily accessible to Richmond International Airport.

Formerly, the RRC was called Strawberry Hill, and used to host the Strawberry Hill Races, which are a series of steeplechase horse races, until RIR bought out the Virginia State Fairgrounds in 1999.

The Complex features three outdoor areas that can host a small corporate picnic or a large outdoor festival. The Heritage Village is an eight-acre forestry area with gazebos and covered pavilions that is ideal for family reunions or company picnics.

The Horticulture Garden is a beautifully landscaped indoor/outdoor facility that can accommodate up to 1,000 people for corporate receptions and weddings. The facility also has a state of the art amphitheater with fixed seating and lawn that can accommodate 8,000 people as well as a 1,000 seat covered arena.

The Old Dominion Building is a newly remodeled 36,000 sq. ft. catering facility with a 30 ft. high center enclosure that can comfortably accommodate up to 1,500 people. Among the meeting facilities come the seven newly decorated and redesigned meeting rooms available for corporate retreats, catered affairs, receptions and other social events.

The Torque Club at the Richmond International Raceway is one of the most unique special events venues in the Greater Richmond region. The Torque Club overlooks the racetrack.

Its 700 seating capacity with a view of the track makes the perfect corporate or social event setting and environment. The Torque Club features drop down Audio Visual screens and themed bars which makes it possible to accommodate seminars and receptions.

Among the very famous past events of 2008 are the Richmond Home and Garden Show, RV and Camping Expo, Richmond Boat Show, Richmond Gun Shows, Family Motor Coach Association's GEAR Rally, Richmond Kids Expo, Spin: Business in Motion, Southern Women's Show, the Big Flea Market, Craftsmen Classic and Bizarre Bazaar each holding a Spring and Christmas Show along with various arts and craft events.

Whereas, the outdoor festivals hosted by Richmond Raceway Complex in 2008 included the Virginia State Fair, Richmond Highland Games & Celtic Festival, K95 Country Music Festival, XL102 Chili Cook Off, ACCA Temple Pork Festival, the VA Food Festival and concerts featuring local and national recording artists.
