Jay Pritzker Pavilion, commonly known as Pritzker Music Pavilion or Pritzker Pavilion, is a shell theater in Millennium Park located in the Loop community region of Chicago. The venue has taken its name from Jay Pritzker, the man whose family is well-reputed as owners of Hyatt Hotels. The pavilion, which was architecturally designed by Frank Gehry, was constructed from 1999 through 2004, and officially opened in July 2004. The pavilion's construction designs were revised a few times over, with many other options for assembly problems, with certain features eliminated and certain others added to make successful fundraising possible.  Towards the end, the pavilion was designed to have a huge fixed seating portion, a trellis network that would support the sound system, a stainless steel headdress and a Great Lawn. The pavilion also features an incredible sound system that has an acoustic design, which can replicate the sound experience of indoor concert halls.
