The Amphitheatre is a part of the Oklahoma City Zoo, which is often ranked as one of the top 10 zoos in the United States. The Zoo Amphitheater being a treat, offering outside live music, was primarily established to provide jobs for economic recovery during the depression.

However, the Amphitheatre fell into disrepair in the 1960s, and its restoration plans didn"t take place before the late 1970s. Once the venue was remodeled, it became the nation"s most favorite live-event venue with a 180 degree seating arrangement that can cater a very large crowd.

The venue has been hosting some of the best names in the music industry. And this is what has made it the top outdoor concert venue in the state.

Since the amphitheatre broke ground, it has housed many live-events, such as, concerts, dance programs, plays, public meetings, and circuses.

The pioneer performance was The Circus of 21 Death-Defying Acts, and from there onwards, the amphitheatre started its journey as the best outdoor venue for live events.

Artists like Sheryl Crow and Def Leppard have graced the stage at the venue and great acts have included Annual Easter Pageant, True Colors, Steve Miller Band, Stevie Nicks, Chris Isaak, Snow Patrol, ZZ Top, Pretenders and Stray Cats, Poison and Ratt, 2nd Annual Soul Food Festival, Z-Fest 2008, and much more!
