This semi-enclosed outdoor concert venue is situated near 909 Lake Shore Boulevard West, and on the grounds of Ontario Place. Molson Amphitheater is noted for playing host to many diverse acts, including genres like rock, pop, and jazz.

In addition to accommodating up to 16,000; there are also 5,500 reserved seats under the 60-foot high covered roof, 3,500 seats under the open sky, 7,000 seats on the grass bowl, and 1,000 seats in the floor area.

Molson Amphitheater is located on the grounds of Ontario Place which opened its doors for the public in May 1971. Ontario Place featured an original Forum as one of the first attractions at the amusement park.

The year 1978 saw the original Forum replacing its round stage with a vinyl canopy roof. Its unique configuration consisted of a round stage, which slowly rotated before the audience. In its last year of operation in 1994, the Forum had a capacity of seating up to 8,000 people.

Later the year 1994-1995 saw the controversial demolition of the facility and the construction of a new venue on the site. It new venue was called the Molson Amphitheatre, featuring twice the capacity of the original Forum.

Although many critics lamented the passing of an established cultural landmark, the Molson Amphitheatre also garnered positive reviews. The facility won RPM Magazine"s "Best New Concert Venue" award.

In May 1995, the Molson Amphitheatre opened with a grand concert featuring Bryan Adams before a sold-out audience. The 2004 statistics showed that over 3 million patrons visited the venue that year.

To-date, the venue has put up on stage a bright array of world-renowned artists and widely popular acts. Molson Amphitheater has now become a perfect place to escape from mundane. People find it a great place to have ultimate in fun and excitement while seeing a music concert live.

Due to its outdoor configuration, the Molson Amphitheater is only open from May to September. This premiere live music venue has attracted over 3,000,000 patrons for featuring some of the most spectacular national, international and local entertainment.

This season, the Molson Amphitheater is bringing an array of warmed-up events featuring a blend of Adult Contemporary, Rock, Jazz, Alternative, Hip-Hop, Rhythm & Blues and Country performances. Also, rock legends Motely Crue are all-set to entertain their fans in Canada.
