Tower Theater or Tickets

The Tower Theater was constructed in the year of 1940. The theater was built in just three months. The theater has been named due to its 40 foot tall tower which is encircled by over 1,200 feet of remarkable neon tubes which are in gold and green colors. Primarily the seating capacity of this amazing theater was of 998 which were situated on two different levels. 

The management of the Tower Theater successfully made a contract with four various studios by the names of Warner Bros, RKO, Columbia and Monogram. This was done so that a diverse range of films could be projected at the theater. By the year of 1948, this fantastic theater venue began hosting some of the greatest variety shows, ballet, stunning fashion shows and also an amateur hour. However, the theater was shut down due to disrepair factors. The first plan of the management after the Tower Theater was shut down was to convert the entertainment venue into a retail business office. Some local individuals took the initiative of putting on about a hundred shows from the years of 1994 till 1996 to sustain the original cause of the theater. In the year of 1995, the City of Bend effectively bought the theater but unfortunately failed to invest in the renovation that were required for the theater. Eventually the theater was again shut down in the year of 1996.

In the autumn of the year of 1996, another attempt was made to save the true heritage of the great Tower Theater. Some 30 people came together and collected informative feedback from the general community members and ultimately created a board. In the year of 1997, this board of people who were trying to restore the theater back to all its initial grandeur went to the City of Bend with an option to buy the theater once again. Luckily this request was met with a great challenge set by the city which was to gather $300,000 in cash. Finally in the month of July in the year of 1997, the magnificent theater’s own foundation was created by the name of Tower Theater Foundation which was a nonprofit organization. Just after a few weeks since the city has challenged them to raise the amount, the group of people successfully raised $362,590 all in cash. In the year of 1999, a campaign which was known as the: “Encore! The Return of the Tower Theater” was successfully begun and started raising more funds. Ultimately in the year of 2001, the foundation fruitfully bought the theater from the City of Bend.

The reconstruction of the Tower Theater began in the year of 2002. After the successful reconstruction of the theater, today this absolutely beautiful theater features the most pristine lighting as well as sound equipment, great video projection system and also a 35mm film projection system. The theater once again re-opened its gorgeous door with a high profile gala event for all the parties that were involved in making the theater stand to its glorious position once again. Today, the beautiful Tower Theater is in complete operation. The theater offers a wide range of live performances, fantastic film screenings, multimedia presentations as well as astoundingly great events such as weddings. The Tower Theater is located on 835 Wall Street in Bend in Oregon in the United States of America. It was built in the year of 1940 in just three months. The theater was successfully renovated in the year of 2002. The seating type for this theater is “reserved”. The total seating capacity of the renovated theater today is about 480.
