This skyscraper building is the tallest in Pennsylvania with 58 stories and a height of 975 feet. It is the 15th in the list of tallest buildings of United States. The construction of the center initiated in 2005 and the center opened to public in 2008. It acquired fame within a very short time. The architectural design of the building was handled by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and incurred a cost of 540 million dollars. Initially the center was called One Pennsylvania Plaza and in 2005 the building was renamed after its tenant, cable company Comcast. Apart from the event center, the building also has retail stores and restaurants to make the experience more comfortable. The building also has a connection to the nearby suburban station.

In addition to all the other attractive things, the two major tourist attractions of Comcast Center are the Comcast Experience and the Humanity in Motion. Comcast Experience is a High Definition LED screen installed in the Winter Garden entrance of the Comcast Center which runs eighteen hours a day and shows random videos and Humanity in Motion presents 10 life size figures which are places on horizontal poles in the atrium that moves and entertains visitors.

The amphitheatre of Comcast Center, which was formerly known as the Tweeter Center for Performing Arts, is located in Mansfield, Massachusetts, Boston and the arena of the Comcast center which is the home to Maryland University Terrapin's men's and women's basketball teams is located in College park, Maryland.
