In 2002 Clark County Amphitheater was established by the company Quincunx of Washington at the cost of $ 40 million at Clark County, Southern Nevadas near Las Vegas.

After building the amphitheater company transferred the deed to Clark County. Clark County Department of Parks and Recreation is officially operating the amphitheater.

The style and materials of the building blend impeccably to resemble it to its local environment, particularly Red Rock canyon, the Valley of Fire, and other natural sandstone formations symbolic of Clark County. The terracotta sandstone exterior was built exclusively using native Nevada rock.

The Amphitheater has the seating capacity of about 18,000 people which includes the upper side walk and the lawn seating. The parking capacity of amphitheater has increased of about approximately 1,300 vehicles under Y.E.S (Your Enhancement of Service) program of 2003.

The stage present at Clark Amphitheater is a 50 diameter concrete slab with 4-post tied up system with 30x50 covered foot-print. The sound system is Mackie SR40XB and the speaker cabinets consist of 8 Frazier speakers with 4 subwoofers.

There are two dressing rooms at backstage for performers and the staff with attached washrooms. This makes Clark Amphitheater an ideal live-music venue for concerts for its incredible sound quality.

It is home to some of the Valley's best live performances, including the annual free Jazz in the Park series, fall Moonlight Concerts, the Reggae in the Desert Music and Cultural Festival.

It held numerous concert featuring artists like NIN, The Black Crowes, Counting Crows, The Goo Goo Dolls, Steely Dan, Michael Mc Donald, CSNY, Tom Petty, Def Leppard, Journey, Clay Walker, Kenny Rogers, Carrie Underwood, The Oak Ridge Boys, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer.

The Concerts held at Clark Amphitheater in 2008 included Rush, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Earth, Wind & Fire, Toby Keith, Maroon 5 and James Taylor.

The last concert of 2008 Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick, brought record numbers of attendants to the Amphitheater that was more than 17,000 people. It broke the 2003 Jimmy Buffet"s concert which had more than 16,000 attendants.
