Whistler Blackcomb is perhaps the one of the most famous and definitely the largest North American ski resort located in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. The merger between the two resorts occurred back in 1997, after the owner of Blackcomb Mountain, Intrawest also bought the Whistler Mountain Ski Resort. Also with the merger, came a number of other modifications and improvements to the resort including Peak 2 Peak Gondola, Timing Flats Express.
The resort also houses its renowned Whistler Mountain Bike Park that was made operational back in 1998. The park attracts substantial number of bikers from different regions, hence being the one of the most favorite biking terrains among the bikers. The park is further divided up into lower and upper zones, namely being Fitzsimmons Zone and Garbanzo Zone respectively. Also located on the resort is the Whistler Blackcomb Coca Cola Tube Park that has been a great success after its opening, during the 2005-06 Blackcomb Ski Season. The resort also provides the ample amount of hiking opportunities and offers the Alpine Walk, Overlord Trail, Treeline Trail, Lakeside Loop, Marmot Trail, and Decker Loop.
