Shreveport-Louisiana, was born in the 1830"s by a Shreve Town Company. The company"s job was to develop a township at the juncture of the Red River and the Texas trail which conveniently takes the route independently to the Republic of Texas which initiated its route to Mexico earlier.

The Bossier City happens to be the sister city of Shreveport, which came into being in the late 1880"s and was integrated in the 1907. They both have to their credit around six historic districts and landmarks noted on the National Register.
