Cold War Kids is a renowned American indie rock bands from Long Beach, California that has been active since 2004 and has gained a massive following since then, with their albums and songs released by the likes of Downtown Records, V2 Records, Monarchy Music and Co-Op Records. The band's members today are vocalist, pianist and guitarist Nathan Willett, Dann Gallucci, bassist Matt Maust and drummer Matt Aveiro. Cold War Kids began in 2004 in Fullerton, moving to Whittier, California soon after and releasing an EP in 2005, labeled Mulberry Street EP. In 2006, they went on tour and release two more EPs, titled Up in Rags and With Our Wallets Full. They were signed onto Downtown Records that year and released their first LP, labeled Robbers & Cowards. For the next two years, the band toured many venues of the US and eventually moved to Long Beach, California where they began work on their next album.
 
Cold War Kids released their next album soon after, dubbing it Loyalty to Loyalty. It was praised by many a magazine, including Blackbox Magazine. It was filled with philosophical and political references, with its title a saying of renowned philosopher Josiah Royce. After the release of this album, they continued touring, spending much of 2008 and 2009 on the road. In 2010, they began work on a new album with producer Jaquire King, who produced albums for Modest Mouse, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon and Tom Waits.
 
Cold War Kids have continued performing concerts while working on their next album, slated for a 2013 release. A single from the album, labeled Miracle Mile, has already been released, much to the joy of fans of the band all over the world. This is no surprise since their second album ranked sixth on the Billboard charts and third on the US Independent Albums chart. it also charted in Belgium, France, Australia and the UK. Their third album ranked fifth on the Billboard charts and ninth on the Australian ARIA Charts.
