This led the band to hire Adam Lazzara who had initially substituted for Jesse Lacey, who was the bassist and now is with the Brand New band, when the recording for the EP had begun. In 2003, Shaun Cooper and John Nolan left the band, however they came back in 2010 just prior to the release of the eponymous album of the band called Taking Back Sunday. This album came out on the 28^th of June in 2011 and has been produced by Eric Valentine while Warner Bros. Records has released it on it label.
 
The band comes from Long Island in New York. The main music genres that it performs in are pop punk, alternative rock, post-hardcore and emo. They have been actively a part of the music industry since 199 till the present day. The music recording label companies that they have been associated with have been the Interscope Records, Sorry Records, Warner Bros. Records and Victory Records. In 2012, Taking Back Sunday embarked on a 10^th Anniversary Tour that was called "Tell All Your Friends".  In this tour, they played their debut album completely live. The entire US tour saw Bayside as being their major support along with Gabriel the Marine, Man Overboard as well as Gabriel the Marine as special guests on the tour. On the 18^th of June in 2013, a video accompanied with an audio release that was primarily an acoustic version of "Tell All Your Friends" tour was officially released on the website of the band for digital downloading. The band has announced to the media that their 6^th studio album is under the process of being recorded.
