David Byrne
Academy and Grammy Award winner, David Byrne was born on May 14, 1952 in Dumbarton, Scotland. As David Byrne turned 2, he along with his family relocated to Canada in Hamilton Ontario and then later to Arbutus, Maryland.

While in Arbutus he attained his high school education from Lansdowne High School. This is where Byrne made his entry to the world of music as he along with Mark Kehoe formed a duo named 'Bizadi'. Later for higher education Byrne got in to Rhode Island School of Design, but later he dropped out just to pursue his music career.

Later Byrne formed his first band named Talking Heads, along with his class fellows from Rhode Island School of Design. Talking Heads was a 'New Wave' band and the initial line up comprised of Byrne, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, but later the line up had an addition of Jerry Harrison.

Byrne's collaborated with Brian Eno on the 1981 release titled 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts', which is he released while he was still a member of Talking Heads. Also in the same year, he also scored a ballet titled The Catherine Wheel along with Twyla Tharp, who choreographed it.

The ballet also made its performance run on Broadway Productions as well. Following 'The Catherine Wheel', he released another music album in May 1985 titled Music for 'The Knee Plays'.

The remastered version of that album was re-released recently on November 7, 2007 and was simply titled The Knee Plays and contained additional 8 bonus tracks.

David Byrne released another one of his albums on October 3, 1989 titled Rei Momo. The album received positive reviews just like his previous work that was 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts'. The album comprised of 15 tracks of Afro-Cuban,Afro-Hispanic, and Brazilian song styles.

Prior to 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts', Byrne also composed five songs on the Soundtracks album of a movie titled 'The Last Emperor'. The album was released in 1987 by Virgin Records.

David Byrne also directed a musical film titled True Stories that was released on October 10, 1986. Apart from directing it, David Byrne also starred, produced as well as co wrote the movie. Most of the songs in the movies sound tracks were performed by David Byrne or his band Talking Heads.

The second musical album The Forest, which followed Rei Momo, was released in June 1991. The Forest, was an orchestral album and comprised of 10 tracks, some of which were originally used in theatre piece of the same name directed by Robert Wilson.

The next album that Byrne released was titled Uh-Oh, and was released on March 3, 1992. Some of the notable tracks that were featured in the album include, She Mad and Girls on My Mind.

The former one even made it to the U.S Modern Rock Tracks chart on #3 spot. The next album titled David Byrne came out on May 24, 1994 and contained two notable singles by Byrne, which were Angels and Back in the Box.

Another song by David Byrne titled Like Human's Do was also featured on Microsoft Windows XP as a sample track on Windows Media Player. The song is from his album titled Look into the Eyeball, which was released on May 8, 2001 and was produced by Michael Mangini.

Album also featured a Spanish Song by Nru titled Desconocido Soy that means Unknown I Am in English. Originally the album comprised of 12 tracks, but later a two CD special edition of the album was also released containing two more bonus tracks, All Over Me and Princess.

After releasing Lead Us Not into Temptation for the movie 'Young Adam' and Grown Backwards on September 30, 2003 and March 16, 2004 respectively, Byrne joined hands with Brian Eno once again to release his most recent studio album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today on August 18, 2008.

This album is the second collaboration between Byrne and Eno, before that they collaborated on 1981 release 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts'. The Duo has also scheduled the Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno Tour to help promote their album.

The tour kicked off on September 16, 2008 at Zoellner Arts Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Tour will hit different venues in North America and Europe, and will end in the spring season of 2009; however the exact tour dates are not announced yet.
