Lykke Li
Swedish indie singer and song writer, Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisso or Lykke Li, was born on March 18, 1986 in Ystad, Sk?ne, Sweden. She has a younger brother Zacharias and an older sister Zara Lou.

At a very early age Li along with her family moved to Stockholm, Sweden after which they relocated to Portugal. After spending five years in Portugal, they also spent time living Nepal and India during winters and in Lisbon and Morocco.

The art of music ran in her blood as her father was a musician as well, while her mother was a photographer by profession. Before making her way in to the music industry, Li also worked as a dancer on different Swedish TV shows.

In 2007 Li released her first EP titled Little Bit in Sweden earning her a mild success there in her home country. Little Bit was released on her own recording label called LL Recordings.

Little Bit was later re released on Moshi Moshi Records. A leading online outlet for indie music Stereogum cited her, an artist to watch in October 2007. Li also provided the vocals to Kleerups track titled Until We Bleed, on his self titled album.

She released her debut album Youth Novels on LL Recordings on January 30, 2008 in Sweden while on May 6, 2008 in United States while on June 6, 2008 in Ireland, and on June 9, 2008 in United Kingdom. Bj?rn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John and Lasse M?rten produced the album while Warner Music released the album in UK.

The album mainly comprises of love and heartbreak songs, all of them are co-written by Li herself, and tells the story of her past experiences. The album comprises of 14 tracks, also featuring Little Bit and Im Good, Im Gone.

The album kicks of with a beat-less prelude Melodies and Desires, taking the expectations of the listener to some other directions, but at the end of the day it proves out to be usual pop album.

Most of the album is low on instrument-usage, but Breaking it Up really gets the groove on with its excellent composition of piano, strings and dilapidated group vocals. A music video for the song Im Good, Im Gone was also

released, which was cited the Music Video of the Week on October 14, 2008 on the US iTunes. Also for the same week another one of Lis track, Dance, Dance, Dance was cited as the single of the Week on the French iTunes.

Li would be kicking off her world tour to on November 24, 2008, when shell be performing at Button Factory in Dublin, Ireland. The following day shell be hitting Arches in Glasgow and after a break of one day, shell be performing on November 27, 2008 at Academy 3 in Manchester, England. Shell perform her second last concert in November on 28th at Koko in London, while the last one being on the following day at Gloria in Cologne.

Li will kick start her series of live performances in the month of December on 1st, when shell be performing live at Maria in Berlin, Germany. The next day shell perform live in front of her fans in Hamburg at Ubel and Gefaehrlich.

Her next stop would be Lisbon where shell be live at Sao Jorge on December 4, 2008. On 5th and 6th December Li would be performing live at Doornrosjie, Nijmegen and at Paradiso (Big Room), Amsterdam, respectively.

Later on shell be heading to Paris, where shell be performing live at Le Trabendo on December 9. Oslo would be her next stop, performing live at John Dee the following day.

After performing live at Vega, Copenhagen and Kagelbanan, Stockholm on December 11 and 12, respectively, shell be heading to the sold out Falls Festival and would be performing at Lorne, Victoria and Marion Bay, Tasmania on December 30 and 31 correspondingly.

After performing three live concerts in Australia on January 3, 4, and 5 at Busselton, Melbourne and Sydney, shell make her way to United States performing her first concert in Washington DC on January 31, 2009.

After performing 12 concerts in both United States and Canada, Li will conclude her tour on February 19, 2009 after performing live at Antones in Austin, Texas.
