Lake Street Dive Tickets

A quartet from Boston, Lake Street Dive is going to perform at the Bluebird Theater on March 22, 2014. The venue is home to entertainment events such as concerts, plays and comedy shows and many acclaimed artists have graced its stage before. The venue can accommodate up to five hundred people. Lake Street Dive is ready for a fun-filled performance. The group has been performing for almost a decade and has come a long way to achieve stardom. Lake Street Live took part in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and won in the category of jazz. With a music style that features, jazz, pop, indie and alternative, Lake Street Dive was formed in 2005. Lake Street Dive received a cash award, with which the members recorded their first CD In this episode in 2006. Prior to signing with the label Signature Sounds, they self-released another CD, Promises. However, in 2011 with the major record label the group came up with Lake Street Dive. The lineup of the band consists of Mike Calabrese as a drummer, Bridget Kearney as the bassist, Rachael Price the vocalist and Mike "McDuck" Olson is the guitarist. Rachael Price is one of the most important members of the group and is a great Nashville-based jazz vocalist. In 2003, she was honorably mentioned at the Montreux Jazz Festival's International Jazz Vocal Competition. She was the youngest competitor and the semi-finalist in Thelonious Monk Institute Vocal Competition’s history. In 2004, Price made her debut in the U.S. jazz festival debut at Yale’s Jazz On The Green. Her remarkable performance won her the Independent Music Award in the category of Best Gospel Song in 2006.  

The band will be performing the songs from its upcoming record, “Bad Self Portraits”. It features singles like Stop Your Crying, You Go Down Smooth and What About Me . The album is set to release in February 2014. The previous releases of the quartet have included some popular tracks like “Fun Machine” from their album with the same title. The group has released six albums in total including In this episode, Promises, Promises, Lake Street Dive and Live At the Lizard Lounge. The band embarked on a tour to USA and Europe in 2013 and entertained millions of fans. Along the tour, the members also appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and The Colbert Report.

Lake Street Dive is a highly talented band, coupled with a naturally outgoing persona, which makes watching it live an immensely enjoyable experience.
