Selling nearly 4 million copies of a DVD worldwide after releasing 12 studio albums, a greatest hits collection, and one live album, Blue Rodeo has been deemed as one of the most successful existing Canadian bands. The band has not only made waves in the Canadian music industry, but has also sold in other markets as well, including the USA's. The band has collaborated with many popular artists as well, including Sarah McLachlan and Jann Arden. The pop and country rock band that surfaced from Toronto, Ontario is none other than the popular Blue Rodeo. The band has been into business for more than 30 years by now and has obtained the road less traveled and has succeeded ahead of anyone's expectations. It emerged during the hair metal era and made its distinct presence in the music industry, as a country rock band. Its single 'Try' became the ultimate hit and the most played song on radio across Canada, and made the band very popular among the masses. For the following three decades, Blue Rodeo became the headlining act of every club, venue, and theatre in Canada. The band has won 10 Juno Awards along with many other Canadian music awards. In addition, the founding members of the band - Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy, have won 7 SOCAN awards.

The band formed in 1984, by two high-school friends - Jim Cuddy (guitarist/vocalist) and Greg Keelor (guitarist/vocalist). Before forming the band Blue Rodeo, both had experienced a few failed attempts. However, soon, with Cleave Anderson, Bob Wiseman, and Bazil Donovan, Cuddy and Keelor formed Blue Rodeo and released their debut album Outskirts in 1987 with the Warner Music Group. Ever since, the band has been signed with Warner Music Canada but have hopped somewhat in the USA and other markets as well, mostly on Warner Brothers, Rounder; whereas, recently, the band re-signed with Warner Brothers International for the world.

The band's current line-up incorporates the vocalists and guitarists Cuddy and Keelor, bassist Donovan, drummer Glenn Milchem, and the multi-instrumentalist Bob Egan. Additionally, the Blue Rodeo members have also worked widely with other prominent Canadian artists, such as Jann Arden, Sarah McLachlan, Burton Cummings, Cowboy Junkies, Kathleen Edwards, The Sadies, Great Big Sea, Ron Sexsmith, The Tragically Hip and Skydiggers. Other than releasing twelve full length studio albums, Blue Rodeo has also released many side projects and all the collaborations as well. In addition, both Cuddy and Keelor have also released many solo albums too.
