Hozier is a renowned Irish musician from Bray, County Wicklow in Ireland. The indie pop, blues and soul musician, singer and songwriter has been playing the guitar and singing sensational songs for audiences since 2012. Hailed far and wide as one of the best among emerging musicians in Ireland and Europe, his music has made waves in the US where he has his fair share of fans. His music is released in the US by Columbia Records and by Island in the UK. He can now be heard live in various venues in the states with Hozier tickets in hand.
Hozier was born to a musician and studied music at Dublin's famous Trinity College. However, he dropped out while still in the first year, so as to record demos for Universal Music. While at the university, he was involved with its Trinity Orchestra. For three years, from 2009 to 2012, he was part of Anuna and was a soloist on the band's album, Illumination, which came out in 2012. He also went on tour with the band, singing with them at venues in the Netherlands and Norway. In 2013, the singer released his first record, an EP by the name of Take Me to Church, whose title track instantly became a breakthrough hit. The song also went viral, making waves on YouTube and social channels like Reddit.
Take Me to Church's lead single also ranked Number One on the iTunes Singles chart, as well as Number Two on other charts. Hozier released a second EP, titled From Eden, which was met with even more critical and commercial acclaim. Following the release of this EP, he went on tour, performing in many a festival, as well as appearing on TV in the US. His first EP, Take Me to Church, contained the following songs, added to the single of the same name; Like Real People Do, Cherry Wine and Angel of Small Death & the Codeine Scene.
Hozier's 2014 EP, From Eden, contained the popular songs Arsonist's Lullabye, Work Song, To Be Alone and a lead single of the same name. In terms of charts and charting, the artist's 2013 single, Take Me to Church, ranked second on the Irish music charts. It also ranked thirteen on the Iceland music charts and Number One on Luxembourg's music charts. A global sensation, it has led to millions worldwide falling in love with the artist and his music.
