Oregon State University (OSU) is located in Corvallis in the state of Oregon. Like some other universities, Oregon State University also has several sports programs, and their team for all the sports is known as Oregon State Beavers. Both the Men's and Women's sports teams of Oregon State University compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association or NCAA. Men's teams compete in 7 NCAA Division I-A men's sports, while women's teams compete in 10 NCAA Division I-A women's sports.

Men's sports at OSU include baseball, which was established at OSU in 1907. Since the day of its establishment, quite a number of players come to play in minor leagues every year, and in fact 15 of them even get a chance to play in Major League baseball. To date beavers have fetched a total of 22 wins in its conference championship. It was in 1952 when the beavers made an appearance in College World Series for the first time, and they made their next appearances in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Oregon State Beavers men's basketball team is known to produce some of the finest players that go on to play in NBA. Some of the NBA All-Stars that once used to be in Beavers roster include Gary Payton and A.C Green. The dawn of the new millennium happened to be birth of a new Beavers football team that was even more competitive. Before that Beavers have 30 years of losing history. However in Beavers 2000-2001 Season they were bigger and they were better, and got enough fame after coming out victorious from a match up against Notre Dame in Fiesta Bowl.

Women's Basketball program at Oregon State University has been successful. OSU's Women's Basketball program also has a sound history of producing strong players including Felicia Ragland. Although for a short period but Felicia ended playing in WNBA, and also have her banner at Gill Coliseum. Gill Coliseum is where Beavers Women's Basketball team plays its home games at.

Women's Gymnastics program at OSU is undoubtedly the most successful program, and the Women's Gymnastics team is considered as one of the best teams nationwide. In their 2006 Preseason Beavers were ranked #13 and came in 2nd all around at the 2006 NCAA West Regional.

The Oregon State University is represented in NCAA Division I-A college football by the Oregon State Beavers who currently play in its Pacific-12 Conference. The team's history dates back to 1893 when they played their first game against Albuny College, beating them 62-0. Since 1953 the Beavers have played their home games at the Reser Stadium situated in the Oregon State University at Corvallis, Oregon. The stadium, previously called the Parker Stadium was opened in 1953 and after various expansions and renovations can now seat more than forty five thousand fans.

The Oregon State Beavers are presently coached by Head coach Mike Riley. The official team color is Orange and the Beavers mostly wear Orange, Black and White uniforms. Benny Beaver is the official mascot of the Oregon State Football team. The Oregon State Beavers have a long standing and fierce rivalry with the University of Oregon which is referred to as the Civil War and is the seventh oldest college football rivalry. The team has played in sixteen Bowl games, winning ten. They have won the Pacific-12 Championship five times, most recently in 2000. They have had forty seven players in All-Americans as well as a number of players who over the years have gone on to play in the NFL, CFL and UFL.
