Hard Rock Metal

Introduction:
Hard Rock Metal is term that encompasses two different genres of music - hard rock and heavy metal. When both these genres are combined together as a whole, it becomes Hard Rock Metal. There is not much of a difference between hard rock and metal for many people, however, in reality, the specialists differ them as both the genres are further divided into countless subgenres.

Hard Rock
Hard Rock is often referred to as Heavy Rock, and it is a subgenre of rock music, which first originated in the mid-1960s rock. Hard Rock is significantly harder than the usual rock music. This music genre involves an intense usage of distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, pianos, drums, along with additional keyboards. In short, Hard Rock, being highly influenced by Blues Music, thus, most frequently using the pentatonic scale, a classic blues scale, basically focuses on thick layers of sound, with loud volume levels, and skillful guitar solos, and it makes use of new and recent instruments such as electric bass, electric guitars, and also drums. It can be distinguished from long-established blues types as Hard Rock is infrequently limited to I, IV, and V chords prevalent in twelve or sixteen bar blues, but includes other chords, typically major chords rooted on tones of the minor scale.

Bands such as The Beatles, laid the foundation of Hard rock music by modifying rock 'n' roll, and adding to the typical genre harder sounds, along with heavier guitar riffs, pretentious drumming and louder vocals, which resulted in a sound that shaped the base for hard rock. Early examples of Hard Rock music can be heard in songs like Born to be Wild, by Steppenwolf and My Generation, by The Who. Another very prominent artist of that time was Jimi Hendrix. Bands of the 60s, including Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple, The Who, Led Zeppelin, and Blue Cheer played an eminent role in the emergence of the Hard Rock.

Heavy Metal:
Heavy Metal is often referred to as metal. It is basically a sub-style of Rock Music, which advanced in the late 1960s and early 1970s, principally in England and the United States. Heavy Metal has a lot in common with Hard Rock, as both are based on overdriven guitar riffs, dual medium-to-fast tempos, and an often high-pitched, and an overall loudness. Moreover, Heavy Metal lyrics and performance styles are usually linked with masculinity and manhood. However, Heavy metal is not essentially louder or more aggressive in nature than Hard Rock. Relatively, the difference is that Heavy Metal departs from its blues and rock 'n' roll roots, and relies more on minor scales. It reveals itself as deeper and darker, and the song lyrics are usually based on science-fiction or fantasy.

Heavy Metal is one of the most lasting music genres, as its popularity has remained strong since it first became visional, i.e. more than thirty years back now. Popular Heavy metal bands include Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin Deep Purple and Steppenwolf.

Conclusion:
In short, all the above mentioned facts can be summarized into a whole as Hard Rock is based on Blues, along with other folk genres, and Heavy Metal is greatly influenced by classical music, deeply tempered by machismo worldview.
