Founded in 1987 in Lodi New Jersey, Danzig is an American heavy metal band. The band was formed by Glenn Danzig, Samhain and Misfits and they usually play bluesy heavy metal style mostly influenced by early sound of Black Sabbath. The band released their debut album in 1988 which was followed by Lucifuge in 1990. Together these albums explored the new wave of gothic, punk and doom in a shockingly dark hard rock that sends chills to the listeners. The band's third album How the God Kill was released in 1992. Danzig released their ninth studio album Deth Red Sabaoth in 2010, first proper studio album of the band in six years. It features both Tommy Victor and Johnny Kelly.

In 2011, Danzig performed at the Download Festival in Donington Park England alongside Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, System of a Down and others. They also played at Nova Rock festival same year. May 2012 brought the release of the song Devil's Angels, based on the theme of 1967's movie of same name. The song brought back 70s style of Danzig. With Tommy Victor as lead guitarist, Johnny Kelly as drummer, Steve Zing as bassist and Glenn Danzig as lead vocalist and songwriter making up the current line-up, the band is working on a new project.
