The Milwaukee Admirals have finally woken from their slumber to once again put themselves among the top boys in the AHL. The Admirals have been a force to be reckoned with for the most part of their existence barring a few years in between where they form suffered for one reason or another. The Milwaukee Admirals history goes all the way back to the year 1970. They were named the "Milwaukee Wings" during those early days post inception.  They played their first game on 25^th January where the Wings came up short against the Madison All-Stars. It took them five more days to record their first win when they beat the Milwaukee Winter Club in a high scoring game by a score of 10-8.
 
Reed Fansher led a consortium to become the new owners of the franchise and proceeded to re-name then the Milwaukee Admirals. They began the 1973-1974 campaign by joining the USHL. After a few quiet years the Admirals finally made their presence felt in the 1975-1976 season. They went on to claim the league title and went on a run of seven consecutive victories to win the playoff championship.
 
It didn't take the Milwaukee Admirals too long to make their mark in the AHL. The season of 2003-2004 was a monumental one for the team. The Admirals not only captured their division title by the end of the season but also won the conference and lifted the AHL crown to announce their arrival in style. Harris J. Turer and his group of investors bought the team in the summer of 2005 to usher in a new era.
 
The new management got to celebrate as early as 2006 as the Admirals once again captured the division as well as the conference championship. The next couple of years were not too fruitful but that all changed come 2008-2009 season with the team's third division title. 2011 brought along the Admiral's fourth division crown which really solidified their status among the best sides in the league.
That was followed by another change in ownership as Lloyd Pettit and Jane Bradley Pettit took over. The Admirals joined the roster of the IHL at the beginning of the 1977-1978 season. As an IHL team they won the division four times. They remained on the IHL roster till 2001 and then went on to become AHL members.
 
The Milwaukee Admirals have been very consistent in their performances on the ice rink especially in the last decade or so. If they keep on treading the same path then this will just be the beginning of a more glorious dawn.
