The South Dakota Coyotes, also referred to as 'the Coyotes' represent the University Of South Dakota. The university was established in the year 1862 and its current president is Jim Abbott. More than 10,000 students are currently studying at the university having 7,220 Undergraduates and 2,931 Postgraduates. The South Dakota Coyotes are currently the members of The Summit League of the NCAA's Division I and the football team plays in Division I's Football Championship Subdivision.
