Born in November of 1967, pezzali grew up in the town of Pavia, located in Northern Italy. His parents were florists. From an early age, Pezzali was passionate about rock and roll music. In his high school, he had to repeat a year in the same grade as he did not acquire passing marks. Coincidentally, he met his future band mate, Mauro Repetto, in the same class. Repetto and Pezzali's common love for music gave rise to the idea of forming a band. On a holiday to the United States, Repetto and Pezzali managed to get their hands on cheap equipment which enabled them to record songs. They immediately began working on making music, when they returned back to their home town of Pavia. The two of them decided to name their group 883, after the Harley Davidson 883cc sportster motorbike.
Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto came up with a demo tape which made its way onto Italian Radio. The demo was liked very much and it eventually led the duo to perform on "1, 2, 3 Jovanotti", a television show. The duo debuted at the Castrocaro Festival, with their song "Do not beat around me", after which came their first album in 1992 titled "Hanno ucciso l'uomo ragno (Spider Man has been killed)". Mauro Repetto worked with Pezzali on two more albums, before finally deciding to pursue a career in acting.
Pezzali, however, continued to lead 883, which now included a bunch of young musicians. Pezzali participated in the "Festival di Sanremo" in 1995, and sang songs from the new album "La donna il sogno & il grande incubo (The Woman The Dream and The Great Nightmare)". The album made its way to the number one position on the chart, Hit Parade, showing the success of the new, reorganized band.
In 1998, Pezzali spent much of his time in coming up with a book "Stessa Storia, Stesso Posto, Stesso Bar", which talked about his experiences prior to the formation of 883. In the same year "I'll be there" came out which became the fifth consecutive album from the band to top the Hit parade. The next year the band got international recognition after they won the award for "Best-selling Italian Artist / Group" at the 1999 World Music Awards.
In 2001, Max Pezzali decided to embark on a solo career. Containing songs such as "Beautiful Verra", his first solo album, titled "One More" was commercially successful. After a gap of three years Pezzali came up with his second solo album, "The World With You". The release of this album was a turning point in his solo career and brought him much acclaim, due to songs such as "The Strange path" and "Here". It was certified double platinum. "TuttoMax" followed, which featured videos of thirty four of his songs. Pezzali wrote another book in 2008, which was about four boys and how their lives are changed by the decisions they take. That same year Pezzali earned a lifetime achievement award at the MTV Total Request Live Awards.
Since then Max Pezzali has continued his solo career and has been involved in a few collaborations with other renowned artists. He has his own TV show on DeeJay TV and is respected as a very skilled musician. Buy Max Pezzali Tickets and hear the Italian artist live in concert.
