Born on January 30, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio - Kid Cudi was raised in Shaker Heights suburbs. He was still in the high school when Cudi began rapping. Nobody knew that a boy, inspired by such hip hop groups as A Tribute Called Quest and The Pharcyde would one day establish himself as a rap music sensation. Kid Cudi did it! He attended the University of Toledo. Since music was swimming through his bloodstream, he quit his studies to pursue a music career. When turned 20, he relocated to Brooklyn, New York. While in Brooklyn, he began recording his mixtap, A Kid Named Cudi.

West spawned Cudi's singing to GOOD Music Label who released his debut album titled Man on the Moon: The End of Day in 2009. He sang with Kanye West on the track 'Welcome To Heartbreak' and provided additional vocals for 'Paranoid'. Cudi also worked with Kevin Rudolf and 88-keys on 'In The City' and 'The Death of Adam' respectively. He featured on such songs as Welcome 2 the World and Ho' is Short for Honey.
