Since the age of three, Eva Ayllon has been polishing her vocal abilities under the guidance of her maternal grandmother. She started off by singing in school competitions which later on earned her a break on the radio and eventually television. In the early 70s, many music bands approached her to make music together. Before pursuing a solo career, Eva Ayllon worked as a lead vocalist with several groups including La pena de los Ugarte, Los Mundialistas o Callejon, RinconcitoMonsefuano and Los Kipus. By the 90s, she had become Peru's most popular singer of both músicacriolla and Afro-Peruvian styles. Soon, Eva Ayllon became an internationally acclaimed solo artist giving exceptional performances in Japan, Canada, America and several European countries. Today, Eva is one of the main reasons behind the preservation and promotion of Peruvian music.
