Daughter of Mexican actress Silvia Pinal and Mexican rock and roll singer Enrique Guzman, Alejandra Guzm?n is a Latin Grammy Award-winning Mexican rock singer and actress.
She is also known as the Queen of Rock in the Hispanic world. Guzman, after traveling with her mother's theater troupe, decided to focus on singing. She recorded her debut album Bye Mama in 1988, which yielded La plaga, the first of many hits.
The song, Bye Mam?, is loosely based on Mexican iconic rock singer Alejandra Guzm?ns childhood and it talks about the star life of her mother, Silvia Pinal. The following year she came up with her second album Dame Tu Amor which included included eight covers from the 60's and 70's.
In 1990, Mexican iconic Rock singer Alejandra Guzm?n released yet another album entitled Eternamente Bella. The album scored one of the biggest hits of her career, the song Eternamente Bella (Eternally Beautiful), which became a number one hit in Mexico and other Hispanic countries.
The year 1991 saw Alejandra Guzman releasing her fourth album, Flor de Papel. The album spawned many ht singles. One of the album singles, Hacer El Amor Con Otro, became a smash hit for her, not only in Latin America and Mexico, but also in the United States.
Flor de Papel was well received by critics and fans, and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album in 1992. Continued gaining momentum and success, Guzman released Libre in 1993 and Enorme in 1994.
In 1992 Alejandra Guzm?n gave birth to daughter Frida Sofia from a relationship with Pablo Moctezuma. Guzm?n dedicated a song titled Te Esperaba to her Daughter Frida Sofia and it talks about her being pregnant with Frida.
In 1996, the Mexican iconic rock singer Guzman released her seventh album Cambio de Piel. Algo Natural is the ninth studio album recorded by her, and it was released in September 14, 1999.
Soy is the title of her tenth studio album. This album was the first produced by Desmond Child and earned Guzman her the 2002 Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Solo Vocal Album.
Alejandra Guzmans Soy yielded four singles: De Verdad, Diablo, Volvere a Amar and the Robbie Williams's original Quiero Vivir. Mexican singer Alejandra Guzman came up with her eleventh studio album called Lipstick on March 23, 2004. The album was produced by Desmond Child, William Edwards and Jules Gondar.
Indeleble was the twelfth studio album which brought Guzman back to the top of the charts in Mexico. It also proved to be one of the best-reviewed albums on her career. Indeleble spawned Volverte a amar, one of her biggest hits in Mexico and hit the Top 10 in the Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks.
Guzmans Indeleble has been certified double-platinum and won two awards at the 2006 Premios Oye! including Best Album of the Year and Pop Vocal Female. That year, Guzman was also nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards for Best Rock Vocal Album Indeleble and Best Rock Song for Volverte a amar.
The following year, she released Fuerza (In English: Force). It was released on November 26, 2007 and spawned a hit single Soy Solo Un Secreto.
Despite being the source of multiple controversies, Alejandra Guzm?n still remains relatively accessible to her fans. She has had a dedicated fanbase throughout Latin America since the late 1980s.
