The hard-hitting rock group Crobot has quickly gained a lot of attention for their powerful sound. The group is currently touring and will be playing multiple shows across the United States throughout the month of December.
The formation of Crobot
Crobot was formed by two friends, Brandon Yeagley and Chris Bishop during the summer of 2011. The duo then recruited the Figueroa brothers, Jake and Paul. They then decided to work on music and hit the studio to record their debut extended play and released, 'The Legend of the Spaceborne Killer' in 2012. The EP featured an eponymous single for which they filmed the music video that received thousands of views on YouTube. The following year, the guys were spotted by Wind-Up Records who immediately signed them.
On May 23, 2014, Crobot partnered with the producer Machine who has previously worked with Cobra Starship, Clutch, Gym Class Heroes and Lamb of God and released their self-titled EP. This extended play was loaded with four powerful songs, Skull of Geronimo, La Mano de Lucifer, Legend of the Spacebone Killer and Nowhere to Hide. The last song from the list became a fan favorite and charted at the sixteenth spot on the Mainstream Rock chart.
Recording Their Debut Album
Crobot gathered and took some time in recording their debut studio album. Titled, 'Something Supernatural,' the band released the record on October 28, 2014. It generated some buzz around the United States and was composed of twelve songs including Cloud Spiller, Fly on the Wall, Wizards and Queen of the Light.
In the same year, the guys went on tour with different acts including, Kill Devil Hill, The Sword, Clutch, Chevelle and Truckfighters. They were also seen playing at festivals like Summerfest and Rock on the Range. In addition, Crobot went on to play some shows in Europe with the Black Label Society and Anthrax.
Making the Right Moves
In June, 2016, Crobot put out the single Not for Sale to build anticipation for their next studio project. On September 23rd, 'Welcome to Fat City' was released. Influenced by hard rock, funk rock and blues rock sound; the album was a solid effort from the guys which too included incredible songs on the track-list. They then later signed the recording contract with Mascot Records through which they released their third studio album 'Motherbrain.' It was positively received by the critics.
Year of the Dawg Tour
Crobot is now currently on its latest outing called 'Year of the Dawg.' The tour began with them playing their first concert at the Crafthouse in Pittsburgh on December 3, 2019. The group plans to go on to perform in cities including Colorado, Racine, Lincoln, Oklahoma City, Louisville and Lansing. They will be playing their final show of the trek on December 22, 2019.
