Born in Indianapolis, IN, Mike Epps was an extrovert child whose comedic ability boasts a hyperactive and extremely creative imagination. He began performing standup as a teenager. Having found success on stage, he moved to Atlanta where he took the stage of Comedy Act Theater for his stand-up performances. His success there gave him the confidence to try LUCK in New York City, NY. He quickly managed to grab the attention of big companies. Mike's big comedy break came in 1995 when he appeared on Def Comedy Jam. The following year he was signed by Vin Diesel for Strays which propelled him to mainstream.
Mike Epps continued touring while making appearances on Def Comedy Jam for next a few years. The year 1999 saw Mike appearing on the HBO mafia series called The Sopranos as well as signing to co-host Next Friday. Next Friday successfully managed to rank number one at the box-office, and proved to be a breakthrough for Epps. He parlayed his popularity into big screen success when signed two more movies; 3 Strikes and Bait. By that time, stand-up comedian-turned-actor Mike Epps had gathered a satisfied recognition of his talent and potential.
As Mike Epps' acclaim increased, his creative talent began to blossom. He gave voiceovers to the character of Sonny in a comedy film called 'Dr. Dolittle 2'. In How High, he enjoyed a featured role. Following that was his joint work with Ice Cube. He demonstrated in All About the Benjamins and Friday After Next in which he appeared as the bumbling thief to Cube's bounty hunter and Saga respectively. Mike's work and popularity continued gaining momentum. He was signed for The Fighting Temptations in 2003 and 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' in 2004. In 205, he made his appearance in 'The Honeymooners'.
