Megadeth

Mustaine's ‘snarling' vocals, and his lyrics added to the band's unique guitar sound. The band's lyrical content often reflected addiction, politics, war, and more recently, personal relationships.
History:
Mustaine, Guitarist Greg Handevidt, David Ellefson, and drummer Dijon Carruthers essentially formed Megadeth in 1983. Mustaine said, "After getting fired from Metallica, all I remember is that I wanted blood. Theirs. I wanted to be faster, and heavier than them". It was obvious that whatever Mustaine set out to do was fuelled by revenge, and this resulted in more aggressive musical content. This is reflected in songs such as "Mechanix". This song was played by Metallica earlier, but Mustaine changed the tempo and the lyrics, and renamed it "The Four Horsemen".
When Megadeth formed, Mustaine could not find a suitable vocalist, and then decided to handle it on his own. He also handled his positions as main songwriter, primary lyricist, and co-lead and rhythm guitarist.
Prominent status and success:
Megadeth's second album was released in March 1986. The band had not been satisfied by the small budget they had to work with at Combat Records. This drove the band to sign an agreement with Capitol Records, and this company helped the band release Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? This marked Megadeth's commercial success and critical breakthrough, and it sold over a million copies in the US.
The All Music Guide cited megadeth's album, Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?, as "One of the most influential metal albums of its decade, and certainly one of the few truly definitive thrash albums".
Popular culture:
Megadeth is well known enough to be mentioned in many films and on television shows, such as The Simpsons, The X Files, and Duck Dodgers. Megadeth is also mentioned in Wayne's World 2, and Honey Hornee. In the movie, School of Rock, Jack Black's earlier band name is "Maggot Death", which reflected ‘Megadeth'.
