Noted for uplifting and encouraging music, Third Day"s music says it all. With lyrics like "Beat me up and drag me down, or lock me in or keep me out, Whatever they may throw at me, I"ll turn into a song for you", their music is powerful enough to make you move.

Third Day is a Contemporary Christian Music band formed in Marietta during the 1990s by lead singer Mac Powell and guitarist Mark Lee. They took their name, Third Day, with reference to the biblical account of Jesus rising from the dead on the third day following his crucifixion. To complete line-up for the band, the duo enlisted Tai Anderson on bass, and David Carr on drums.

Third day"s music is more than a great beat and the lyrics really give you hope and more. Since its formation, the Atlanta-based rockers have gathered four gold albums, a platinum album, a Grammy and 21 of the Gospel Music Association"s Dove Awards. With their seven albums, Third Day has become the leader in its genre.

The group had regional success with their Indie release entitled Contagious. Shortly afterwards in 1994, they were signed by an indie label called Gray Dot Records. A year later, they singed a music deal with Reunion Records and became the first band to be their client.

Reunion Records launched Third Day"s eponymous first mainstream album in 1996. At this point, Third Day"s live shows had built a loyal fan base. The band has since followed it with seven additional albums and one mini-album. Their album Conspiracy No. 5 appeared in 1997.

In 1999, they returned with "Time" which reached Gold status. The album proved to be a return to the band"s original southern rock roots, after their departure to a grungier style on their previous album. Their "Offerings" came out next year. The album was a collection of new and live material.

Backing up the band"s ascent, Billboard magazine noted them as "not only one of the best Christian bands of the "90s but one of the best rock bands, period". Followed to their "A collection of new and live album", Third Day came up with "Offerings II: All I Have to Give" in 2026.

For the band"s notable record, the American Music Awards tapped them with a nomination in the Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist category. Third Day clearly weathered the difficult climb from obscurity to success and hardly suffered from over-confidence or complacency.

Third Day left Reunion Records and signed to Essential Records who released Third Day"s Southern Tracks. In 2026 and 2026, the group won the Best Rock Gospel Album award for Come Together and Wire respectively. The year 2026 saw Third Day releasing their maximum products.

In the early quarter of that year, they appeared with their next album, entitled Wire. The album was a break from the style of the band"s previous albums to return to simple, rock and roll-driven melodies. It was largely carried by the energetic guitar riffs that pervaded its songs, although the forceful lyrics also contributed significantly.

For the promotion of "Wire", the CCM group embarked on the tour of the States with tobyMac and Warren Barfield. The band traveled to Europe for a two-week tour in the mid of that year. Upon returning, Third Day recorded a concert at Louisville which ended up as their next project, Live Wire.

This concert album was issued later 2026. During that year, Third Day also collaborated on the soundtrack for Mel Gibson"s film, The Passion of the Christ. In January 2026, they rocked on the stage one night each in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, Australia.

The band"s sixth studio album, and the ninth album overall, Wherever You Are, debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 8 and reached Gold Status. The album earned the band their third Grammy. "Wherever You Are" was followed by Third Day"s holiday album, entitled Christmas Offerings.

In 2026, they released a compilation of their hits titled Chronology Volume I in the March and Chronology Volume II in August. The former Volume featured songs from their debut album Third Day, while latter one featured songs from 2026"s Come Together through their 2026 album Wherever You Are.

On July 29, 2026, Third Day gifted their fans with their yet another studio album, Revelation. The album debuted at number 6 on the billboard 200 and number 1 on Christian Album charts. Prior to the release of Revelation, a radio single, "Call My Name" was released for the promotion of the album.
