Described as the ‘Artist to watch for’ by the Rolling Stone magazine in 2012, Zedd has risen to the top in a short span of time. With hits like Clarity, Spectrum, Slam the Door, Shave It and the remixes of Born This Way and Marry the Night under his belt, the electronic music producer, musician and DJ is at the top of his game. He has made appearances at major festivals such as Nocturnal, Coachella, Ultra and Electronic Daisy Carnival. His was inclined towards music since childhood and since he belonged to a family of musicians, he received full encouragement and support from them. He started playing the piano at the age of four and at twelve he got his hands on drums as well. Later in 2002 he joined the German trio called Dioramic and eventually became an integral part of it. As a result he happened to work with names like Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Swedish House Mafia, P. Diddy and Skrillex.

His debut single Spectrum was also released in 2012. Matthew Koma lent his vocals to the song.
The song charted on prominent spots of countdowns in Austria, Japan and Germany. In addition to that it grabbed the first spot on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. 2012 also marked his composition of the song I Don’t Like You for Eva Simons and Beauty and a Beat for Justin Bieber. Zedd has remixed songs for other artists like Fatboy Slim (Weapon of Choice), Erick Decks (Nasty), Miriam Bryant (Push Play) and Empire of the Sun (Alive).
His debut album Clarity came out in 2012 and charted at number 3 and 38 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums and the US Billboard 200. It also reached number 21 on the UK Dance Chart. The album released three singles; Spectrum, Clarity and Shave It. Clarity ranked at the 13th spot on US Billboard Hot 100 and gained immense popularity on ‘Late Show with David Letterman.’ It also charted in Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Scotland and other places.
