Besides good sales, Wolfmother's debut album managed to get thumps up from the critics also. It won many awards including the prestigious Grammy. They won it for the single, Woman that was declared the Best Hard Rock Performance in 2007 Grammy Awards. The album also got J Award in 2005 and two ARIA Awards in 2006 for Best Breakthrough Album and Best Rock Album.

The success of their debut album has earned Wolfmother the right kind of recognition and exposure in the industry. However, it took them four years to come up with another record. They maintained a regular presence on concert front during these times, except the nine month break from touring in 2008. Later that year, Myles Heskett and Chris Ross said goodbye to group and they were replaced by Aidan Nemeth and Ian Peres.

Cosmic Egg, released in 2009, further raised the stature of Wolfmother as one of the hottest rock bands going around. The album contained a dose of Zeppelin-esque classic rock, and grabs your attention right from the first song till the last.
