Founded in 1919 Los Angeles Philharmonic or LA Phil has time and again been lauded for its "forward thinking". Later in 1969 Ernest Fleischmenn's tenure began. With his avant-garde approach towards music, the orchestra took a big leap forward. Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Society and Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group came into existence under his leadership. Carlo Maria Giulini began his tenure as music director in late 1970s. After Carlo's short career Andre Previn stepped in his shoes. His contributions to LA Phil had a great impact on the growth of the orchestra.
