Evengy Kissin is a classical pianist from Moscow. He has been playing famously since he was a child and has since then become an influential name in the classical music front. He is most known for his versions of tunes from the Romantic era, in particular Franz Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Frederic Chopin. Kissin has been residing in the United Kingdom for the past 15 years, operating from there and performing the majority of his concertos in the area. Kissin was recognized to be a child prodigy from the age of 6. He lived in Moscow at the time and had a Jewish upbringing. Since his talent shone from such early on, he continued on to take piano lessons and went to music schools later on as well. He attended the "Gnessin School of Music", which is a high honor for any young Russian child for they only take those children who are beyond extraordinary. During his time there, he studied under Anna Kantor who remained his one and only piano instructor from then on.
 
When he was 10 years old, he made his first appearance as a concert pianist as part of the "Ulyanovsk Symphony Orchestra". He played the "Piano Concerto no. 20 in D minor" by Mozart and showed incredible precision and finesse even then. There was no looking back for Kissin from then on as the following year, he performed at his first ever recital in his hometown of Moscow. By the age of 12, he had made his international debut. This was made possible as he joined the "Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra" and both recorded and performed a number of piano concertos by Chopin. His biggest performance as part of the philharmonic was at the "Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire". Up until this point, he had only performed locally, or around Russia. Even though his recording had been heard internationally, he had not performed outside of his home country. Thus in 1985, he had begun to travel Eastern Europe which was quickly followed by a Japanese tour. By 1987, he was performing in Western Europe as well. This began when he played at the famous "Berlin Festival". Kissin made his debut in the United Kingdom under Valery Gergiev, an esteemed conductor and Vadim Repin and Maxim Vengerov, the violinist. Together, they performed at "The Lichfield Festival" to a large audience which included a number of critics and influential people as well. He played for the first time in London as part of the "London Symphony Orchestra" with the same conductor. With all these early efforts, Kissin as we know him today came to be, an international piano superstar.
 
Evengy Kissin tickets have sold all over the globe-in Asia, most of Europe and America. He has also had the honor to perform with the top orchestras of the world and has played under some of the most high-ranking conductors. Some of these names include Claudio Abbado, Mariss Jansons, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Sir Georg Soti amongst a list of many others. Other than being part of orchestras, he has also played chamber music and has held solo performances.
 
Because of his impressive repertoire, he has won many awards over the years. In 1987, whilst he was still a young pianist, he won a Crytal Prize presented by the "Osaka Symphony Hall" in the category of "Best Performance of the Year". Soon after that, in 1991, he won the "Musician of the Year" honor, given to him by "Chigiana Academy of Music", a school located in Siena, Italy. In 1992, he had the chance to perform at the Grammy Awards, where he played in front of a live audience of a billion who tuned in to watch the show. He also won the "Instrumentalist of the Year", setting the record for being the youngest to ever win this. He has also been noted by his own country for adding to its culture and promoting it elsewhere in the world. This was the Triumph Award, and it is the highest honor in the arts and culture that can be received in the country. Here, too, he was the youngest person to ever be honored.
 
Kissin is all about the technical ability which comes to him most effortlessly. As he continues on to play around the world, his skills are becoming even more pronounced.
