The English Concert is one of the finest chamber orchestras of the world. This orchestra has been delivering powerhouse performances for nearly thirty years and is currently led by the legendary harpsichordist, Harry Bicket who has taken the group to even greater heights. Be a part of the excitement as one of the grandest orchestra assemblage of the world takes over the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York. If you are in the vicinity or simply crave for top-tier early classical or baroque music then secure a spot for yourself by booking The English Concert tickets.

The ensemble is based in London and was founded in 1972 by the English conductor and Harpsichordist Trevor Pinnock. The English Concert initially started off with just seven extremely talented musicians and later progressed to orchestra repertoire as they expanded and added numbers to the group. They were among the very first orchestra groups that were solely dedicated to only classical and baroque music playing on period instruments. The overall repertoire of this exclusive musical ensemble ranges from the works of Mozart to Montazeri.

The English Concert made their debut in London by playing at the 'English Bach Festival' in 1973. Their outstanding performance added to their already rising fan base and also led to their first recording, "Sons of Bach harpsichord concerto". During this time they also took part in 'The Proms' which is an eight week long classical orchestra concert series held annually at the Royal Albert Hall in London. After performing at one of the biggest orchestra stages in their hometown, the group took off for the tour of North America in 1983. In the same year The English Concert Choir was assembled to perform Acante et Céphise, which was among the most notable works of the great French music theorist and composer, Jeanne- Philippe Rameau.  After this development performances of large scale and oratorios works became more regular. Last year the orchestra performed to a capacity audience of more than 5000 in the closing concert of Leipzig Bachfest and at the BBC Proms.

During the period from 1996 to 2001 the English Concert worked on a massive show project titled, "Great Religious Works of the 18th Century". This cycle of concerts kicked off with "Messiah" performances in Spain and later on Bach's "Mass in B Minor" played all over Europe in Austria, Italy, Germany, France and London.

The English Concert Orchestra is currently led by Harry Bicket, who was chosen in 2007 to be the new artistic director. Under the new charismatic leadership the group went on to tour far and wide including shows in Middle East, Europe and the US. Bicket is internationally renowned as a concert and opera conductor of distinction. Highlights of the current season include collaborations with Vesselina Kasarova, Ian Bostridge and Andreas Scholl. The orchestra also recently performed with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras. The discography for English Concert Orchestra comprises of more than a hundred recordings, these include prize winning CDs like "As Steals the Morn" by Handel which won the BBC Music Magazine Award in 2008.  Another recital by Elizabeth Watts and Ian Bostridge who recorded Bach Cantatas under Harry was chosen as 'CD of the Month' by the Gramophone Magazine.

In their latest itinerary, The English Concert Orchestra has been invited by the prestigious Carnegie Hall of New York to present three Handel opera concerts. Apart from these performances the group would remain on tour from 2013 till 2015 and would be delivering magnificent concerts throughout Europe and the USA.
