Tears for Fears Tickets

Tears For Fears is a new wave slash pop rock outfit, active in the music industry circa 1981. They have been associated with groups such as Graduate, Mancrab, Neon, Mayfield and artists such as Oleta Adams. The duo's two members are Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal, both of whom co-founded the band. Orzabal plays the guitars and keyboards whereas Smith plays bass and keyboards. Tears For Fears, a new wave outfit, began playing music in the early eighties and was founded after Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal's first band, Graduate, was dissolved. Fears started out as a new wave outfit but went on to include a more mainstream pop and rock sound, leading to international fame.

They were part of the so-called Second British Invasion of the US music industry, fueled by MTV. The band's first album, The Hurting, sold more than a million copies and was certified platinum. It ranked number one on the UK Albums Chart.

In the US, their second album, Songs from the Big Chair, ranked first on the Billboard 200 charts. Songs from the Big Chair was also certified multi-platinum in the US and UK. It went on to spawn two Billboard Hot 100 hit singles; Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Shout. The songs also charted in the UK and led to the band winning the Best British Single Award at the Brit Awards in 1986.

In 1989, they released their third studio album, The Seeds of Love, which was also certified platinum and sold a million plus copies all over the world. Following its released, the band went on hiatus but reunited in 2000. In 2004, they released a fourth album. Titled Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, it was a massive success.

Altogether, Fears sold more than thirty million of  albums globally. Over eight million of these have been sold in the US alone, where they have a huge fan base. After the release of their seminal 2004 album, Fears went on a 2004 US Tour. During the tour, guest artists, such as Oleta Adams performed live.

Soon after, the band's song, Who Killed Tangerine was used in the soundtrack of popular movie, Fever Pitch. In 2005, their album was released in the UK and one of its songs charted on the UK Top 40. They then went on a UK Tour and then began work on a new anthology with Universal Music.

Later in 2005, they played concerts in France and their Parc des Princes concert in Paris was released as a live CD and DVD in France. It was dubbed Secret World - Live in Paris and soon became a bestseller after selling more than seventy thousand physical copies.

In 2006, their 2004 album was re-issued by Universal Music as a two-disc Deluxe Addition with a number of extra B-sides and rarities. In 2009, yet another of the band's albums was re-issued, followed by a 2010 tour of New Zealand and Australia with Spandau Ballet.
