Mike Stud grew up in Rhode Island and studied at the St. Raphael Academy. He played both basketball and baseball, earning all-state honors for basketball. Academically, he also rose to top, as one of the members of the Key Club. He then went to study at the Duke University, playing baseball for the Duke University baseball team.

Mike Stud went on to become a Freshman All-American team member and played for the NECBL's Newport Gulls. Medical problems with his arm led to surgery, leading to missing a season. His passion for music rose while he was recovering from surgery. This led to the release of a music video of his song College Humor in 2010. By 2013, his music videos on YouTube had seen more than eighteen million views, a mind blowing figure.
